I'm looking for an inexpensive or free book writing software. I want to be able to list chapters, then sub chapter ideas and then the text. I need to be able to collapse the chapters and expand as needed to move around easily in the book.

Where am I?

In SaaSworthy you can ask and answer questions and share your experience with others!

If you're looking for a downloadable software that can be used on desktop, then Scrivener 15 is the most popular option that's being used by a lot of people. It's a one-time purchase.

But if you're looking for a web-based solution which is relatively inexpensive, then check out Gingko 13and Novlr14.
